I think we become jaded and cynical in our old age. But I know what you mean about the simple joys in life. Recently I was sitting outside a Dairy Queen and saw these people walk in, and the one guy held the door for everyone and for whatever reason I just got the feeling he was very happy. You could just see the joy in his face and the bounce in his step. And I thought I remember feeling that kind of joy, just for being, but it's been a while.
